English Department organized a professional development workshop on bridging the gap between primary school and secondary school English Language for the English teachers of St. Anthony’s School on 8 December 2020. In the workshop, the English Panel Head highlighted the characteristics of Form One English learners and how our school caters for English learners’ needs and abilities. The Form One coordinator introduced the Form One English Curriculum with special focus on language across curriculum, reading across curriculum and self-directed e-learning. Our Native-speaking English Teacher demonstrated what an Oral English lesson is like. The Deputy English Panel Head showed snapshots and videos and explained how our students learn English outside the language classroom. Response of the participants was very positive and they were impressed by the opportunities we offer our students to show their talents.
